How to mod avatar colors?

I have searched on these forums, and another forum and have been lead to the use of Horizon to do everything I wanted, but the Horizon site is down, and there are no external download links that I can find for Horizon.
Are there any other tools for doing this, or should I just do it manually? (I'm not asking this because I'm lazy and don't want to do it manually, but simply because I've never done anything with hex editing and don't want to start now.)

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
