Forum software?
« on: May 14, 2010, 07:29:58 AM »
I currently am using a free forum service (ZetaBoards) but it doesn't have all of the customization that I would like. I'm not very smart as far as adding things like (http://www.phpbb.com) to your website, or what websites allow the usage of these softwares. Maybe I'm making it more complicated than it actually is. If anyone has any experience with such things, I'd really appreciate the help. :p

What type of help do you need. All you need to do is unzip a folder, and know MYSQL information.

Read the rules.

Mysql is a database that stores information, it has tables/colums, and a db name/db user/db pass, and you edit the tables can use encryption, then you simply connect to the forum config/install.

Read the rules.

You can also use tools like fantsastico deluxe which installs everything for you. For exact specifications I would do what Vv3AsOne said. You have more installation and initial setting options there.
